Welcome to another blog post of What’s Cooking in Business Central!
Today, we’ll talk about a simple but useful new feature in Business Central 2025 Wave 1. This feature enhances the user experience by allowing administrators to limit the number of available product languages— a simple yet impactful change.
Let’s see how it works!
The Challenge: Too Many Language Options
If you’ve ever navigated to “My Settings” and picked a language, you’ve likely encountered a long list of options. While having multiple language choices is great, it can be overwhelming for end users, making it difficult to find the language they actually need.
The Solution: Allowed Languages
Going forward, administrators can now specify which languages users are allowed to choose from. This new setting makes it easier to choose a language, giving users a simpler and more convenient experience.
Here’s how it works:
1. Administrators Access Allowed Languages:
- Navigate to the new Allowed Languages settings page by clicking settings.
- Select the specific languages that users should have access to

2. Customising the Language List:
- For example, an admin may choose to allow only Danish and English.

3. Refining the User Experience:
- Once the settings are applied, when users go to My Settings they will only see the allowed languages.
- A small notification will indicate that the list has been filtered for clarity

A Community-Powered Feature
This feature was brought to life thanks to Casper, a dedicated member to the Dynamics 365 Business Central community. Casper suggested and even developed this development, demonstrating the power of collaboration within a Business Central ecosystem. Although the feature didn’t receive a high number of votes initially, the product manager recognised its value and approved it in the 2025 Wave 1 release.
Capser then submitted a pull request on GitHub, and now, this enhancement ships as part of the latest—making life easier for admins and end users alike.

Final Thoughts
This is just one example of how community-driven innovation can enhance Business Central. A big thank you to Casper for his contribution!
