Our Thoughts On Business Central Wave 1 2026
This is a strong wave for anyone running Business Central day-to-day.
The agent updates stand out most. The Expense Management Agent and Fulfilment Agent are both genuinely useful additions, not just incremental tweaks. If your team spends time manually processing expenses or chasing fulfilment tasks, these will reduce that workload directly.
The financial management changes are also worth paying attention to. Foreign currency revaluation on GL accounts, accelerated depreciation for fixed assets, and self-billed invoicing are all features that customers have been asking about for some time. It is good to see them arrive in the same wave.
We are also keeping a close eye on the Service Management and subcontracting changes. Both are moving to dedicated extensions, which gives partners and customers more flexibility to configure and update them independently. That is a positive direction for businesses in manufacturing, field service, and distribution.
On the sustainability side, value-chain tracking continues to mature. If you are under pressure to report on Scope 3 emissions or meet ESG requirements, Business Central is becoming a much more credible tool for that.
