Key Announcements from Directions EMEA 2025. And What They Mean for Your Business

Business Central now powers over 50,000 companies worldwide. Microsoft announced this at Directions EMEA 2025 in Poznań, alongside major AI updates that will change how you work.

For Tecvia, and for you as a Business Central user, these are real changes that will shape your daily operations.

Here is what matters most.

50,000 Companies Trust Business Central

This milestone shows the platform’s reliability. When you use Business Central, you join a global community. This growth guarantees continued investment from Microsoft. New features and support will continue to arrive.

Two New AI Agents Are Available Now

Microsoft has made AI practical for everyday tasks. Two agents launched at general availability.

The Sales Order Agent automates your order processing. It reads customer emails, extracts order details, checks stock levels, and creates sales orders in Business Central. No manual data entry. No switching between systems. Your order-to-cash cycle speeds up. Errors drop.

The Payables Agent transforms accounts payable. It uses AI and OCR to read supplier invoices, then automatically codes them to the correct inventory items, general ledger accounts, or fixed assets. Purchase order matching comes soon. Your finance team saves hours each week.

You can implement these agents today. Learn more on the official Microsoft page.

The 2026 Release Wave: Three Priorities

Microsoft outlined its plan for the 2026 Release Wave 1. Three areas will benefit your business.

First, elevated productivity. New tools will make daily tasks faster for your team.

Second, enhanced AI-powered processes. Microsoft is committed to its AI-first strategy. Expect more intelligent features that automate complex work.

Third, global scalability. The platform will better support businesses operating across multiple countries.

Business Central Goes Global

Microsoft confirmed worldwide availability. Business Central is now officially supported in markets across the globe.

This matters if you are expanding internationally. You can standardise on Business Central in new territories with confidence. Check the official list to see if your target regions are included.

A New Icon Marks Deeper Integration

Mike Morton from Microsoft unveiled a new icon for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. This marks full integration into the Microsoft 365 family. The change shows stronger connections in the platform

coming in 2026. It also builds on the recent icon updates in all Microsoft products. Starting with the next release, this icon will begin making its way into the product.

Day Two: More Reasons to Feel Confident in Business Central

The announcements kept coming on Day Two, each focused on removing friction and boosting confidence for growing businesses:

Uninstalled Apps Will Stay Uninstalled

It may sound simple, but it’s a game-changer for anyone managing extensions. Microsoft listened to partner feedback: from now on, if you uninstall an app from your Business Central environment, it will stay uninstalled, even after future updates or synchronisations. That means fewer surprises, less clutter, and a more reliable upgrade experience. Your system stays just how you want it.

Local Azure Regions for Poland and Italy

In version 27.3, customers in Poland and Italy can choose to host their Business Central environments in local Azure data centres. This is a huge step for data residency and compliance, especially in regulated industries. It also delivers a real performance boost for end users. You get the power of the cloud without having data further afield than necessary.

Business Central MCP Server: Public Preview

A big step forward for integrations and smart automation, the new MCP Server is now in public preview. It lets Business Central talk directly to agents, bots, and third-party services. This creates new ways to connect your ERP with AI assistants and other systems. It is all secure and requires much less effort than before. The focus is on enabling practical, real-world connections, not just experimental technology.

What This All Means for Your Business

The second day’s announcements build on what came before. Microsoft is refining its offerings to smooth out the rough edges, creating space for smarter business processes, international expansion, and seamless integrations. For SME leaders, you will see benefits right away. There will be less manual work, better compliance, and more ways to automate.

At Tecvia, our mission is to help you transform these capabilities into tangible results. As your Business Central partner, we’re here to implement, optimise, and support whatever’s next.

Let us know if you want to discuss how these new features can accelerate your growth plans.
